My father is borderline SCI/MCI and I had him on a 12 day gluten free, dairy free, low carb and low sugar diet and then he fell in assisted living and is currently in the hospital with closed head injury.
That's 12 days down the drain now.
The health care systemin the US is very similar to a prison caring for elderly parents in assisted living.
Once they enter the system, it's hard to overcome it and alter, because they(the caregivers) get the payday even with Medicare supplements.
I need to find a specialist here in Georgia to see if someone is trained in Dr. Breseden protocol.

Currently I am investigating Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. Opinion is that it is helpful with dementia. Downside is its expensive. Medicare does not cover for Alzheimers. Maybe other insurances do? I don't really know. It is sometimes used for head injury so that might we a way in. Medicare system fosters more disease and costly treatments by not covering the treatments that can really make a difference. Stay away from Soft HBOT... its just not effective enough at 5psi (pounds per square inch pressure). About 33 psi is required for deep work. If one looks around one can find places that will do Hard HBOT but you will likely need a Drs RX. Prices vary from $125 to $300 per treatment.. most things need 5 or more treatments. Our local hospital charges 250, but I found it at a private clinic for 125.

Medicare is a program that is fleeced and has no reason to offer anything other that continued medication.
It's is like the mafia, once you enter into the system, getting out is almost impossible.
It's just another prison for those captured using it.
